A U.S. senator grilling a Goldman Sachs CEO

Talk about the pot calling the kettle crooked. Was it just me, or did anyone else have a hard time watching that charade yesterday? I mean really, who is more crooked - a U.S. senator or a Wall Street CEO? In fact, I think the two are interchangeable. Eleven hours of quibbling over whether Sachs' actions were (are) unethical or illegal? When did the two become separate issues?

You can't legislate away greed, folks. Let's cut to the chase. Nothing will change, save for a few restrictive regulations to be shouldered by small businesses and the longsuffering American consumer. Wall Street fat cat criminals will continue to give themselves exorbitant bonuses based on how thoroughly and effectively they screwed their "clients" over the year. Senators will scream and jump up and down intermittently, since doing so curries favor with their (working) constituents as well as shines the spotlight on someone else's wrongdoing.

Oh say can you see…..
